About our Home Boarding

It is important to me, that from the minute you leave your dog in my care, you feel happy, knowing that your dog is being well looked after. Doggie Breaks Wales is in a safe, rural location, with access to our own unspoilt woodland and a fully fenced half acre garden, all at the end of long farm track. There are no main roads in sight, just green fields, trees and meadows.
Having worked for many years at one of Wales’ leading Labrador Show and Breeding Kennels, I was responsible for the care and well-being of over 18 labradors at any one time, including preparing for, and showing at, Crufts. Owning and caring for dogs has always been a major part of my life and Doggie Breaks Wales was inevitably, therefore, going to happen at some point!

Accommodation:

Whatever you provide for your dog, I will too. There will be lots of play, cuddles and a warm cosy bed, in front of the log burner. Whether your dog sleeps in a crate, dog bed or even on a sofa, I'm sure they will find a comfy spot!

Exercise:

At Doggie Breaks Wales, I offer all the comforts of home, but so much more. Situated in the centre of Coed y Felin woods, acres and acres of beautiful Forestry Commission land, I can provide your dog with all he needs, from a gentle stroll to an energetic run through woodland, across fields or in local wildflower meadows. We live half a mile, down a farm track, so you will feel happy, knowing your dog is safe, as well as being cared for by a responsible, experienced, true dog lover.

Health & Hygiene:

Please see the Terms and Conditions at the bottom of our website.

Home Boarding Prices

£25.00 per day for 1 dog.
If more than 1 dog per household, then the fee is an additional £20.00 per dog, per day.

Other Services

I have created a service for your peace of mind in case of an emergency.

By choosing a person or neighbour of your choice, you pass on my details to them, then if something should happen through the night, or day, your chosen person will contact myself, day or night and as soon as I see message, I will go and collect your dog and bring them back here until your back home again.

I have this set up with a few of my customers who live on their own, and it has come into play and worked great every time.

At least, with whatever is happening to yourself, you know I would have been and collected your dog and they are safe here with us until your return.

A couple of customers have an emergency bag set up in certain place, with everything in it for the dog, which most cases is the dogs food or toys etc.
This is all something I can go into depth with you when you come over for your meet and greet.

It's just for your peace of mind!

Max has been going on his holidays to Sharon since we took him on as a rescue 3 and a half years ago. Max came with many ‘quirks' and Sharon was happy to take him on for boarding and work with us. Max loves going to doggy breaks and sees it as his 2nd home. Sharon has been a huge support in Max's journey to finally being settled in his forever home. We can't recommend doggy breaks enough :)

5 From Sandie on

Monti's second home, he visits Sharon on a Wednesday and stays over whenever we go away be that a weekend or a couple of weeks. Monti spent last christmas with Sharon, Chris and the family, I recieved photos and videos which were lovely and I could see how happy he was, cuddled up on the sofa. I would never leave Monti anywhere else, he loves going tovisit his auntie Sharon Xxx

Dougie my little shihTzu pet absolutely loves coming to doggy breaks Wales, it's a home from home and so excited to see Sharron every time ☺️ Communication and accommodation is second to none, advise is always given when required, A very safe a secure place too I wouldn't hesitate in recommendation

Tali has been coming to see Sharron/Chris and family for three years! Tali absolutely loves it our biggest concern is always that we are not sure if he wants to come home! Sharron‘s experience with dogs is evident as they all line up for morning treat ! We see the behaviour reciprocated when he comes home to us! We can go on endlessly about how great they are with dogs but we also get Sharron and Chris who are always so willing to help with absolutely anything! They are genuinely an integral part of our life and we would be lost without them xx

Sharon and family having been looking after my lad for several years , he always races in as he loves his doggy holidays with Doggy Breaks Wales. Sharon has been fantastic always looking after my boy so very well, she is very caring and knowledgeable . I would highly recommend Doggy Breaks Wales , a true home from home for my four legged friend. Thank you for all your wonderful care and attention over the years.

5 From Vicki on

The most trustworthy, knowledgeable, friendly, caring and safe place I could ever have found for my 18 month Lab. Sharron is amazing and is always there to help and advise me as a first time owner as well - she is so knowledgeable yet is so relaxed and non judgmental- she really has helped me as well as providing the most amazing care and love to blueberry. I couldn't recommend more highly.

5 From V Conry on

Sharron is just great! Loves animals, especially dogs. We left our 10yr old staff for 10nights at her place, we received pics of our Millie when we were away looking really happy and relaxed. Sharron looked after Millie like she was her own! We heard about her place from a family member & We will definitely be back next year

5 From Lee Turner on

Sharron and Chris looked after our little nervous rescue dog a few months ago . They did a brilliant job providing a loving home from home environment for him . Nothing was too much trouble, I was kept updated and this offered much need reassurance allowing us to relax and enjoy our holiday. I would absolutely recommend them

5 From Janet Bellis on

My dog is my little princess and gets nervous in many new scenarios. I don't have to worry when she's with Sharron though, she goes running in knowing that this is a safe place and a home from home. Communication is always forthcoming about how my little girl is doing and making sure her care is a priority. I thoroughly recommend Sharron to look after your loved family members.

We are so very pleased ( following a recommendation via a friend) that during our last winter sun week away, we booked for our lovely boy 'Juno' to stay with Sharron & Family at Doggy Breaks of Wales. I fully trust Sharron with him and following our first visit and trial day, I just knew I could leave our baby( 2 year old sprockerdor) in her capable hands. I knew Juno liked her too as she is clearly a very friendly, natural dog loving profrssional person, who offers the best most homely sevice to all dogs that stay with her. I could see they all looked so happy too and it really put my mind at ease knowing we could enjoy our holiday, knowing that Juno was happy, well looked after and cosy in the comfort of Sharrons lovely home & in his own bed too. Sharron is fab with dogs for sure and gave me some good advice about feeding and dog food too! She sent me pics and vids on whats app and texts to update me, we even had a little video call so it made us so happy to see and hear that he too was having a lovely holiday. Juno came home happy , well excerxcised, clean and looking groomed and well looked after . We 1000% recommend Sharron at Doggy Breaks of Wales- a truly fabulous service for sure:) Juno is looking forward to his stay this coming December too.

Well what can I say 😀 I have been using the services of Doggy breaks Wales for almost 10 years now . There is nowhere else I would trust more with my dogs . Taylor the Newfie loved her daycare and boarding stays, she was happy contented and looked after as one of the family . Quite often on picking her up she'd look at me as if to say “aw mum do I have to go now 😂” They miss her as much as I do and still talk about her . Now the Delightful Dilys my basset hound loves her days and stays . Relishing the doggy friends she's made and her second human family . Sharon has years of experience and is a safe pair of hands . The setting is perfect and you know your dog will have a wonderful time .

Berti started going to Doggy Breaks Wales when he was 5 months old to meet other dogs and socialise. He goes at least once a week now and absolutely loves it! He is a sensitive soul who hates being on his own but we never have any concerns when we leave him with Sharron. She is a dog care oracle and always gives us sound advice if we are concerned about any aspect of Berti's well being. We never worry about him when we go on holiday ss we know he is in his 'second home' and treated as a member of the family. We now book our holidays around availability in Doggie Breaks as we could not think of leaving him anywhere else. Sharron is a true 'Dogmother' and worth her weight in gold!

5 From Iona Scott on

We have a toy poodle who had hardly mixed with other dogs and as such we were very sceptical about leaving him with anyone who had dogs. However we looked in our area and found a very lovely lady with experience of keeping dogs . Called sharron at Doggie Breaks .We met her first and took our dog every 2-3 weeks then he stayed for a week on a couple of occasions and he was fine. Sharron is a great dog boarder and day care person. She has a big heart. We give her 5 stars.

5 From Elaine Etheridge on

My lad goes to Auntie Sharron on an ad hoc basis. I hate having him away from home so he only goes if I can't take him with me. He's spoilt rotten whilst he's there! He's settled, sleeps well and manages to make himself at home. He's intolerant of all other animals but Sharron has kept him safe for seven years…yes it's been that long! It's homely, that's what I like; it's nothing like a kennels…which I wouldn't be happy with. Sharron, you've been a diamond, many times xxx

5 From Maggie on

We recently went on holiday to Florida and booked our two pugs in with Sharron and Chris. While we were away Sharron sent us pictures and videos of our dogs they had the best time plenty of walks and fusses when we picked them up they looked really well and happy. We were so pleased with their care we have rebooked for next year

5 From Jackie on

When my daycare/home boarder had to retire, I was very worried about finding the 'right' place for my JRT. I was so lucky to find Sharron and her family, Sharron put me at ease straight away. My dog went to her once a week for daycare to help him settle before a 4 night stay. I needn't have worried, Zac loved his days with Sharron and had a great time when he stayed while I was away. Sharron sent me photos and videos of him having fun and cuddles, which meant I could totally relax and enjoy my time away. I highly recommend Doggy Breaks Wales, you can leave your dog knowing that not only will they be well cared for but will not miss out on playtime or cuddles.

5 From Chris on

I never hesitate to leave my Lab with Sharron. She takes care to be sure she knows all her little routines and Nel always comes home happy, glossy and full of beans! Thanks for being there.

5 From Nicola Giles on

My dog loves going to Doggy Breaks Wales and it is his second home. As soon as we reach the track he gets so excited in the car. When we arrive he jumps out and races to see Aunty Sharron, Uncle Chris and all his friends. I know when he is at Doggy Breaks Wales he is in excellent care. Sharron has been absolutely incredible. She sends me updates of all the funny things he has been up to and she is always happy to help with any questions I have and gives knowledgeable advice. I am always learning from her and I really appreciate it. Thank you Doggy Breaks Wales!

5 From Sarah on

Our four month old Cockapoo Berti has been visiting Sharron to socialise and comes home tired, happy and more confident in the company of other dogs. He is treated with love and affection. Berti is looking forward to going on his first overnight holiday in October and we feel more than happy to leave him in Sharron's care as we know he will be treated as one of the family. We would highly recommend Doggy Breaks Wales,

5 From Ian Makin on

Our labs are both rescues and can be nervous about going away. They don't stress at all about staying with Sharron, which means I can relax and enjoy my holiday. Thank yiu

Our cavalier King Charles spaniel Boo absolutely loves going to stay with Auntie Sharron and Uncle Chris!! She has a soft spot for Chris and him for her. They have massive cuddles and she tells him long stories. In fact the whole family is welcoming and kind as well as a truly professional set- up. We totally recommend it!

5 From Sian Hilton on

We were really nervous about finding a dog boarder for our boys when our current provider had to close due to the financial impact of COVID. Finding Sharron has been better than we could have hoped! She really is amazing with the boys, understands their individual personalities and treats them with the same love and discipline that she shows to her own dogs. We know the boys are safe and well cared for which leaves us with a happy heart when we leave them with her! Finding you Sharron has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders xx

5 From Julie on

I have been using Doggie Breaks Wales for a number of years, and to put it simply, I doubt there is a better place for your dog whilst you are away.

5 From J Clark on

We were so nervous about leaving our dogs when we went away until we found Doggie Breaks Wales. Sharron is so so lovely and she instantly puts your mind at rest. Our dogs absolutely love going to stay with Sharron. We get pup-dates and photos/videos during their stay which is lovely to see them having lots of fun running round in the huge enclosed garden. I cannot recommend Doggie Breaks Wales enough!

5 From Lucy on

Our Labrador absolutely loves coming to stay here. Sharron is fantastic and put us totally at ease when leaving our Lab for the first time. Since then, whenever we go, our Lab is already excited as we enter the driveway and doesn't look back. Never any hesitation leaving our dog here.

*** HIGHLY RECOMMEND *** We've been bringing Ted to Sharron and her family since 2017. After a few traumatic weekend stays at Kennels, we're so pleased that we found Doggie Breaks Wales. It is just perfect. Sharron and her family treat Ted like part of their family, he's happy and settled when he stays with them and enjoys the space available to run around in. Sharron even sends videos and photos of Ted on his holidays, which puts our minds at rest, having just as much fun as us!!! We know Ted has a fab time when we go to pick him up as although he's pleased to see us he's not stressed or eager to come away, which he was after being in kennels.

5 From Susan on

Our fur babies are so important to us we only want the best with no compromise don't we? The highest compliment I can pay is that from the moment we leave Bob with Sharron I barely think about him so confident am I that he is not only safe and well looked after but he's also having a fabulous time. Doggie Breaks Wales has transformed how I feel about going away - nowhere else comes close.

5 From Kate on

A lovely, homely place where everyone gets involved. My boy has ‘issues' and is so well cared for; all his needs are met. Sharron was an angel when I needed her at the drop of a hat due to family illness. She was always there and I could never thank her enough. A great place!

5 From Maggie on

Sharron has cared for my dogs since I moved to Wales over 6 years ago . My wonderful Newfoundland thought of it as her second home. She often looked at me when I picked her up, after a stay or doggy day care as if to say “do I have to go “ she was treated as one of the family . Now delightful Dilys my crazy basset hound feels just the same . You can guarantee a happy stay at Doggy Breaks Wales knowing your furry family member couldn't be in better hands !

Frankie goes to Sharron for the day every other week for socialising and fun with other dogs. She's always happy to get there and is clearly very well looked after. Sharron obviously cares a lot about the dogs and the photo updates of her day are a lovely touch!

Knowing how happy Hector is at Doggie Breaks means we can relax whenever we go away. He really is treated like one of their own!

5 From Sinead on

I've been leaving Duke, my Labrador with Sharron since he was a puppy (he's now 6 years old) and he is so well loved and cared for I couldn't recommend her highly enough. He's loved by her whole family and it's a real home from home. I would not hesitate to recommend Doggie Breaks Wales.

5 From Anita Wood on

Our lab and border collie have been to Doggie Breaks for both day care and home boarding and I cannot rate it highly enough. So lovely to be able to leave them somewhere that feels like a home from home with Sharron who obviously loves all the dogs in her care and has such a wealth of experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes. They have loads of space to play in, comfortable places to chill out and get looked after so well. No hesitation in recommending to fellow dog owners!

5 From Jo Hayes on

Been taking my puppy here from 14 weeks for day care. Leading up to a 2 week stay for her when she was 6 months. I still take her once a week now, to keep her socialised, or a quick 1 night stay. Sharron and her family are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. I would not take my pup anywhere else. A loving environment where she is made 1 of the family. The video clips showing her playing, relaxing and having cuddles is priceless. Sharron in her own right is a fantastic trainer. Her dogs are unbelievable, and tips and tricks that she gives are excellent. I would cry when I left my previous pooch at other kennels, but not leaving my pup with Sharron. She is so excited to see her… I can walk away happy knowing that she is getting the very best attention. Amazing place. Don't think twice if you are looking for day/holiday care.

5 From Ellen on

Thank you for the fabulous weekend! I had so much fun, even though it's been over 18 months since I last stayed it was like I'd never been away. The cuddles were especially good, you know us Vizslas, we miss our humans so much. Mum and Dad were very grateful for the regular updates and photos, even maybe a little bit jealous. See you soon xx Bracken

5 From BRACKEN on

Sharron is truly a ‘ second Mama' to my little pooch, who has been staying for holidays since she was a pup, 5 years ago. All of the doggie guests are treated as part of the family & have a grand old time in the spacious country setting & it's lovely receiving photo updates of them having fun. I recommend her to everyone I know. 5 Star ++++

5 From Thelma James on

What a great service, this was the first time leaving our boxer dog hugo, we were sent pictures and videos daily. Sharron even stayed up with our dog when he was unsettled during his first night with her. She's honestly the best around. If you're looking for a boarding service look no further. We will definitely be sending our dog back.

We recently left our two dogs Cleo and Ceaser with Sharon at doggy-breaks. This is the first time we have left them and we were worried, but we needn't have been The dogs loved Sharon from the start, we visited beforehand just to familiarise our dogs with the surroundings, then on the actual day , they wagged their tails and barked all the way down the lane towards Sharon's Sharon is so lovely with all the dogs and she caters to all your special requests concerning medication and picky eaters We can now think about having future holidays knowing our beloved dogs are in safe hands and also enjoying their holiday break away from us Thank you Sharon for your dedication and care ..see you again soon xxx

5 From José on

We have used a few home boarding services while trying to find the right one for us, and for the dogs. Our last border stopped offering the service due to pregnancy so we were left looking for someone who would not only agree to have 2 big (but lazy!) dogs; but was enthusiastic to have them. Sharron was fantastic from the outset. We took them both over for a meet and greet which went brilliantly, and then before we went away we left them there for a couple of hours to get used to the idea. Obviously, leaving your dogs anywhere for the first time is daunting; no different than leaving a child in a new nursery, but Sharron's history with numerous big breed dogs and her understanding about what we wanted for our dogs laid our minds at rest. Usually, we have found that boarders have their own rules, routines and ways of doing things which your dog/s have to fit in with. This isn't what we want when we're paying good money to have someone look after them for us; what we want is a Sharron who listens to our requests, accommodates our feeding regimes, and manages medication administration. While we were away, Sharron and her family integrated Ralph and Lotty into their family and sent regular updates via WhatsApp with pictures and videos of them and the other dogs. And to top it all off, Ralph, who always loses weight when boarding, sometimes significantly; looked amazing when we picked him up and clearly loved Sharron, as did Lotty. Thanks Sharron! xx

First time we've left Bonnie our Doberman for a holiday and it was great to be put at ease by Sharon who really understands owner and dog relationships.she was took in as part as the family instantly and we were updated with photos and messages with news how she was doing. I would really recommend Sharon,Bonnie loved it there so glad I chose Sharon proper home from home for your beloved pet.

Our American Cockapoo Mollie has just returned from another weeks fantastic holiday with Sharron. We were sent photographs throughout and it was great to see how happy Mollie looked . Mollie also had eating issues before her holiday and I am so greatful for the time that Sharron spent with her trying different things and ensuring that Mollies eating routines and choices improved. Thank you so much once again Linda

5 From Linda on

Fantastic place. I Cant rate it highly enough. This was the first time we had left out tibetan terrier Juno. She stayed for 8 nights and had a better holiday than us! Sharon was brilliant, sending pictures and video's while we were away and even sorted a better eating routine for juno. Thank you so much, she is now eating twice a day, rather than grazing now. Beautiful setting, she made some great doggy friends. Really dog friendly household. We will definitely be back. Thank you Andy and family

5 From Andy Pritchard on

Doggie breaks wales was the perfect place to send our dog Alfie. Sharron and her family are lovely, friendly and caring people and we felt relaxed from day one. Sharron makes everything easy as we all know leaving our dog is like leaving a member of the family. Alfie settled in straight away and made friends. He had a trial run a few days before and this went great. Sharron sent s emails, pictures and video of Alfie as we were missing him. We need not have worried as when we went to pick Alfie up he was happy, healthy looking and relaxed. This is the first time we have left Alfie as we would never use kennels. We recommend Doggie Breaks Wales highly and will definitely be using Sharron again each time we go away. Big thank you again. xx

Leaving our 2 dogs Daisy and Lily with Sharon meant a stress free holiday. We received photos and updates while we were away and were delighted to see them running around with new friends when we went to pick them up. We will definitely be using Sharon again and will be recommending her to our friends

5 From Ann on

Our Newfoundland, Rufus, went to stay at Doggie Breaks Wales with Sharron during the summer of 2016 for around 2 and a half weeks as we were going on holiday, and we felt that Rufus deserved his own kind of doggie holiday too. When we went to visit Doggie Breaks Wales, Sharon made us feel very welcome and we knew it was a place that Rufus would be happy and be able to relax and have plenty of attention and exercise. We also took Rufus for a few hours about 2 weeks prior to going on holiday so he felt comfortable and got used to the surroundings. When we went on holiday, we contacted Sharon to ensure Rufus had settled in and to our delight we received pictures of Rufus very much making himself at home which was such a big relief! We hope for Rufus to visit Doggie Breaks Wales again this year!

5 From Yasmin Ellis on

Our dogs stayed with Sharron and loved everyday. What a lovely host Sharron is. Very knowledgeable about dogs and really caring. Would definitely have Sharron look after our Springers again. A real homely feeling and we felt so confident in Sharron.

From Nesta Lucas on

We've used Sharron for dog day care and dog boarding and feel completely at ease leaving our two dogs with her. The dogs don't even look back when I drop them off, they run straight into the garden. When I've come to collect them they have been happily sleeping in their beds in Sharron's dining room, so they are obviously very happy, chilled and settled there. Sharron is very knowledgeable and competent, and I feel pleased to have found somewhere I feel totally confident leaving the dogs.

5 From Holly W on

Doggy Breaks Wales looked after our two beloved pets, Coco and Alfie for the second time this year last month. As before, every few days there was a post on the facebook page showing how much they were enjoying their holiday whilst we were away. I cannot recommend Doggy Breaks Wales highly enough to anyone who really cares about their pets. We are now regulars xx

We have used Doggie Breaks Wales for our American Cockapoo Mollie three times now in the last year. She is treated as one of the family during her stay and really enjoys herself when she is there . She enjoys the company of the other dogs and also the whole family. Mollie loves all the open space but also the home comforts of being with the family . It's her little holiday and she settles in really quickly. She is picked up from home and returned to us at the end of her stay always happy. Sharron has also sent us photographs of our precious little girl which helps settle a worried owner. I trust Sharron and the family impeccably with our dog and I would recommend Doggie Breaks Wales to everyone. We are really grateful for the love and care our little dog gets and are so pleased we visited Doggie Breaks when we were first looking for the best place for Mollie to stay. Thanks Sharron and family Linda 8/10/16

What can I say other than Sharron is brilliant at her job. As soon as we met her we knew that it was 100% the right to place for our clingy collie to have her holidays. Sharron shows a real interest in the needs of our dog and cares enough to keep in touch with us throughout Roxi's stay with her. It is evident that this is more of a passion than a business to Sharron and her family.

5 From Kate Woolford on

Our golden retriever Russie has staying with Doggie Breaks Wales twice now and he has loved it both times. Sharron looked after Russie as if he were her own. Sharron instantly put us at ease by allowing Russ to come to daycare before our holiday so he could get to know the place. He clearly loved it as was demonstrated by all the pictures and videos Sharron sent us. Doggie Breaks Wales is set in a lovely location with lots of space for the dogs to run around even if they need to be separated for any reason (less sociable/on heat etc). We will definitely use Doggie Breaks Wales again, worth every penny xx

5 From Alison Evans on

We have been using Sharron for 18 months now when our Goldendoodle Jake needs day care or an overnight stay. We viewed quite a few borders but eventually chose Doggie Breaks because of the great surroundings and service, and felt Sharron has a real passion for the dogs care and owners peace of mind. I trust Sharron 100%, she really is so lovely, and would recommend Doggie Breaks for anyone. Jake always has so much fun, makes lots of friends and we have one tired doggy coming home! So glad we found Doggie Breaks, a real Gem :)
