About our Home Boarding

Hello I'm Kathy. I've always had dogs of my own and being an animal lover over the years I've worked with horses and cats as well as working in kennels for over a decade. I started Kathy's Home Boarding in 2008 to 2013 and after a long break I am now pleased to able to do what I love most and offer cosy holidays for your best friend. I have 3 poodle crosses Oscar 10 years , Ollie 2 years and Alfie 1year. We love dogs of all ages and elderly dogs and dogs with special requirements are also most welcome Subject to suitability.

Accommodation:

The dogs have the roam of the cottage and mostly chill out in the living area during the day with full access to outside areas, sofa, arm chairs and a wide variety of dog beds and at night have 2 bedrooms to choose from and a reception area. There's a large garden and separate yard area and fenced decking to the back and a fenced yard to the front. We have tracks, fields, bridal paths and Quiet country lanes to walk. Bedding is provided but you are welcome to bring your own at your own risk should any damage occur during your dogs stay.

Exercise:

All dogs are walked on leash/harness unless the owner has given written consent to exercise their dog off leash/harness and im confident the dog has good recall. Exercise is to the requirements, needs and abilities of each individual dog. Enrichment activities are provided with lick and snuffle mats , toys and various games, one to one attention as well as group activities.

Health & Hygiene:

Dogs must be vaccinated and have been treated with a vet approved flea and worm treatment prior to boarding
All dogs must be accompanied by an up to date vaccination card for the duration of the dogs stay with us. Please ensure your dogs microchip details are up to date and your dog is wearing an adequate collar and ID tag.
An annual health check with your vet is advised prior to boarding. I use safe4 disinfect and deodoriser to maintain cleanliness of the home environment . The owner is responsible for providing enough food for the duration of the dogs stay.

Home Boarding Prices

I can only accept bookings after a compulsory meet and greet followed by a days trial has taken place to ensure suitability for your dog.

Dogs must be a minimum of 1 year old and neutered. I'm not able to offer boarding to dogs with aggression or serious behavioural issues.

One days trial visit £25 one dog + additional £10 for second dog from same household

£35 per night one dog+ additional £20 for
second dog from same household.

Day care £25 per dog + additional £10 for second dog from same household

Non refundable non transferable deposit applies for all bookings. Payment via bank transfer/ cash accepted

My very lively golden retriever, sunny spent the night at Kathy's home boarding. She had a wonderful time, got a lot of attention and enjoyed all the exercise. And I was happy knowing she was safe & happy with a more than competent host who loves dogs

Very happy, friendly host. Amazing peaceful location. Nothing was to much trouble for Kathy. Molly was so comfortable and relaxed after her stay I don't think she wanted to leave 😀 I will definitely be sending Molly again and I can't recommend Kathy's Home Boarding highly enough!!
