Hello, I'm Meinir, the “head housekeeper” at Home on the Farm.
My love for animals has been a lifelong passion, nurtured by growing up surrounded by four-legged friends on our family farm With years of hands-on experience and a genuine passion for animal care, I am dedicated to providing a loving and safe environment for every dog that comes through the gates.
My life has always been filled with the joy and companionship of animals. From dogs to cows, cats to chickens, hamsters to sheep, I've cared for them all. Growing up on a farm taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and the importance of giving animals the best care possible.
I don’t just see dogs as animals, I see them as individuals. Each dog is special, with their own personalities - and quirks! I love meeting new animals and getting to know them and their individual ways
Years of experience of caring for animals have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to handle all kinds of doggie personalities and needs. That, in addition to courses including L3 Pet First Aid, Canine Communication, Animal Reiki, Pet Nutrition and Basic Dog Grooming means that I am well-prepared to respond to their behaviour, promote their well-being, provide personalised attention and comprehensive care for your beloved pet.
Your dog will be in capable, compassionate hands, receiving the highest standard of care tailored to their unique needs.

Home on the Farm is nestled in private farmland in Cardigan. Our property features a spacious, enclosed garden where dogs can play safely. Inside, dogs have full access to the downstairs area, complete with comfortable sofas and ample space for dog beds. For our boarding dogs, we strive to replicate their usual sleeping routines as closely as possible. If your dog is accustomed to having a double bed to themselves, we are more than happy to accommodate that as well!
All dogs are walked on a leash or harness unless we have written consent from the owner to exercise them off-leash, and I am confident in the dog's recall abilities. We ensure that your dog enjoys at least one main group walk per day (usually 1 hour), followed possibly by a second, shorter walk in the afternoon, as long as they are physically able. Additionally, we emphasise enrichment activities that provide not only physical exercise but also mental stimulation and skill development too. These type of enrichment activities include lick and snuffle mats, scent work, puzzles and agility obstacles.
To ensure the safety and health of all our guests, we require all dogs to be up-to-date with their annual vaccinations before boarding or daycare. You will be asked to provide a copy of the vaccination card before your initial Meet & Greet appointment.
Additionally, all dogs must be current on their flea and worming treatments.
Following the Meet & Greet appointment, we will ask you to complete Registration & Consent form for your dog, which includes a detailed breakdown of your dog's health.
At Home on the Farm, hygiene is a top priority. We clean both the indoor and outdoor areas regularly, using DEFRA-approved cleaning products.
Our Daycare and Home Boarding services are only suitable for dogs that are comfortable in the company of other dogs, and can settle comfortably in a home setting.

Life can get busy with work and other commitments, and so you can’t be with your dog all of the time. Home on the Farm's dog daycare provides a loving, fun, safe, family environment so your dog will enjoy their day while you take care of your tasks.
The day will include at least one main group walk per day (usually 1 hour), followed possibly by a second, shorter walk in the afternoon, as long as they are physically able. There will also be an opportunity for playtime in the garden with Meinir & Rusty, and any other dogs who are there are the time.
Home on the Farm is a daycare from home - meaning your dogs will be in the cozy surroundings of a loving home - a true home from home experience for them.
There'll be plenty of interaction between your dog and others - humans and pups! Also lots of enrichment activities - followed by fuss, naps and cuddles!
Home on the Farm is for Small to Medium Breed dogs (under 15kg)
