About our Small Pet Boarding

We board: Rabbits

The Rabbit Residence Rescue has been a registered charity since 2012 and we rescue rehabilitate and rehome over 100 unwanted or neglected pet rabbits each year.
Our team members are all fully trained with expertise in behaviour, welfare and nutrition as well as holding certificates in correct handling and storage of veterinary medicines. We take part in regular CPD to ensure our knowledge is up to date allowing us to provide better care to the rabbits.
We are members of the Rabbit Welfare Association and keen to promote their principles.
We also offer a bonding service should you wish to adopt a rabbit or two to pair with your own.

Accommodation:

We are always upgrading our facilities to suit our rabbits needs so we have a wide range of accommodation options for holiday boarding. The price is per enclosure per night per pair or trio of rabbits (no discount for single rabbits)

They include:
Duchy farm kennels (8ftx6ft or bigger) - £10 per night
Rabbitopia - £10 per night
Aviary (with solid felted roof) with hutch/playhouse (min 10ftx8ft) - £10 per night
Aviary (with mesh roof) with hutch/playhouse (min 10ftx8ft) - £9 per night
Mini kennel (6ftx4ft) - £8 per night suitable for a single rabbit or guinea pigs only

If your rabbits are elderly or have long or medium length fur we recommend boarding them in a kennel to keep them dry during poor weather.

Exercise:

We are passionate about rabbit welfare and providing rabbits with large 24/7 predator proof spaces with a range of enrichment to allow them to exhibit natural behaviours alongside a hay based diet complimented with high fibre pellets and fresh vegetables, herbs and forage to promote physical and mental wellbeing.

Health & Hygiene:

We require all rabbits to be vaccinated against both Vhd2 and also myxomatosis/vhd1. Vaccines must be done at least 21 days prior to boarding & not run out whilst your rabbits are with us.
All rabbits must be neutered.
We don’t allow boarding rabbits into grass areas due to potential risks of spreading internal parasites.
Veterinary grade disinfectant used in all enclosures.
Access to an exotics vet if your pet becomes unwell during their stay with us.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

£8 to £10 per pair of rabbits per night inclusive of food depending on accommodation choice.

Our two bunnies have just spent twelve days at R.R.R and they did not want to leave! They had a lovely spacious hutch within an enormous run with tunnels and masses of dust free hay! I always worry about my pets, but I know I don't have to worry when they are staying at R.R.R because they are with the experts! Thank you Caroline XX

First class boarding. Caroline is passionate about rabbits and it shows in the care given to both holiday boarders and rescue buns.Cannot recommend too highly.

I always board my bunnies here. It's great to go on holiday knowing they'll be well cared for by people who really know rabbits, and they have lovely spacious runs as well! Highly recommended!

My bunnies were adopted from here and go back to holiday board whenever needed. They are always spoilt and love to relax there in the peace and quiet of the Hertfordshire countryside. Their health is the most important thing and Caroline's health checks are fab and she's always on hand to offer brilliant advice.

Brilliant place for bunnies. I am a nervous traveller because one of my bunnies has special medical requirements and needs careful attention. I have total confidence that they are looked after and cared for by experts who truly understand rabbits. I loved the texts updating me on their well being. Mine will be back there soon!
