Hi, my name is Sarah and I manage Pets Stay Happy. I have a Foundation Degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare and many years of experience looking after a wide range of different pets both my own and other peoples.
Chickens and ducks will stay in one of our hen houses size 9ft x 6ft, 9ft x9ft or 9ft 12ft. They all have a solid roof for shelter from the wind and rain, a chicken coop to roost at in at night, food bowls, fresh water, grit and plenty of space to move around during the day. Ducks will also have a small plastic pond to bath in.
Rabbits will stay in one of our pet sheds with approximately 6ft x 8ft of indoor space and 9ft x 8ft of outside space to hop around. There is a hutch for sleeping, a litter tray, food bowl, water bottle and a rack of fresh hay.
Guinea pigs stay in a 5ft long hutch, in one of the sheds. Each hutch has a sleeping area, food bowl and water bottle and plenty of fresh hay to eat and nest in.
We can also care for degus, rats, and chinchillas in our large cage or mice, gerbils and hamsters in their own cage brought from home. For tortoises we have a 3ft vivarium for nighttime and cold weather.
As rabbits like to be out at dawn and dusk each shed has a tunnel to allow rabbits constant access to the attached secure 8ft x 9ft run, to nibble grass or get some exercise whenever they wish.
Weather permitting, guinea pigs will spend much of the day in one of our 6ft long secure runs on grass. Our large garden allows these to be moved daily, so there is always fresh grass to eat. Each run has a cover to provide shade, a house to hide in, a tunnel and a water bottle.
In warm weather tortoises will be put out into our 9ft x 14ft secure tortoise enclosure to bask in the sunshine and nibble some weeds. There is also a house to hide under.
Chinchillas and degus have a 16inch metal Tic Tac wheel in their cage to have a run when they wish. Other small pets will be given time out of their cage as appropriate and in line with owners wishes.
Hutches and houses are cleaned between stays and smartened up daily. All food bowls and water bottles are washed and filled daily.
If your pet becomes ill during their stay I will contact you and take them to our local vet.

Our hamster has stayed on two occasions now. The location is great and Sarah and her family are very friendly and welcoming. I also love the fact that we get pictures whilst we are away. Highly recommended.

My two guineas have stayed with Pets Stay Happy three times now and love it there. The facilities are well set up and the owners adore the animals and look after them as if they were their own. It means we can go away without worrying at all. The mid holiday update and photos are a lovely touch too. Thank you Sarah and family!

Spotty our family hen has spent 3 holidays with Sarah. Hen accommodation is clean and spacious and most importantly secure. Sarah has always given her the most excellent care and has been very friendly and helpful with regards to drop-off and collection. Highly recommended for your hens' holiday!

My 3 rabbits are currently with Sarah for their third "holiday"! I never have any concerns and am extremely impressed with their accommodation and the care they receive. Sarah spends time with them and gets to know their personalities and even gives them fresh natural greens like dandelions and apple tree branches and leaves! She also sends an email with photos during the stay to let you know how they all are which I think is a lovely touch. Highly recommend, Sarah treats them as if they are her own :)

Highly recommended. My 2 rabbits spent 9 nights there and seemed happy and well cared for. The mid-holiday email update was a lovely touch and helped us to relax. The rabbits had lots of space inside and out. I'll be booking again for my next holiday! Thanks Sarah

Literally the best vacation a pet could have. I was cared for, had a great place to sleep, play, and eat, great location and a very caring family. Only way it could be better is if I was adventuring with my fam, but I hate flying...err PLANES that is, I'm a bird - flying is cool, just can't handle airlines. This is like my second family!

Our 2 pet rabbits and our tortoise have stayed with Sarah on several occasions. We have always been impressed with how clean and spacious the runs are. Sarah is always accommodating with the pick-up/ drop-off and always ensures the animals have their home comforts. Sarah always sends an email and a picture to let us know that the animals are settled and happy. I would highly recommend PetsStayHappy for pet holiday accommodation and our pets are booked in again later in the year.

Recently boarded my 4 bunnies with Sarah, and I am very happy with the care they received. I had an email from Sarah letting me know they had all settled in well, and they were all happy when I collected them. I don't think they wanted to come home! Thanks again Sarah!
