About our Small Pet Boarding

I have been a small animal vet for 20 years and have worked in a variety of practices in the area.
I have rescued and cared for a large number of rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, reptiles and chickens over the past 30 years

As animal welfare standards improve for small animals people are thankfully moving away from standard rabbit/guinea pig hutches
Our boarding facilities provide the space and care that is needed for your special pet.

Accommodation:

We offer both indoor and outdoor accommodation for rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises.

We have 14 outdoor rabbit enclosures.
We have 8 indoor rabbit enclosure for house bunnies.
We have 10 indoor guinea pig enclosure
We have 6 outdoor guinea pig enclosures.
We have 2 indoor tortoise enclosures and 4 outdoor (summer use)
We have 2 chicken coop/runs
We can accomodate up to 4 reptile/rodent cages

Guinea pig enclosures are min 5ft x 2ft
Rabbit/chicken enclosures are min 7ft x 3ft
We have larger enclosures available for groups or giant rabbits.

Rabbits. guinea pigs, tortoises and chickens have daily access to outdoor runs

Reptiles and rodents are cared for in their own cage/tank in our home.

Exercise:

We have 8 cabins with attached runs.

We then have outdoor runs for all rabbit, guinea pigs and tortoises to have outdoor time during the day if wanted.

We have 2 chicken coops/runs that accomodate up to 6 chickens each

We have several tortoise runs in a variety of sizes.

All runs are fully secure and are disinfected between every guest

Rabbit runs are on patio slabs to prevent digging and allow for full disinfecting between guest.
Guinea pig and tortoise runs are on grass or paving depending on preference.
Runs are rotated after every guest.

Health & Hygiene:

A full check of all animals is carried out on arrival
Animals are cleaned out on a daily basis

All rabbits must have up to date vaccinations for myxomatosis, VHD1 and VHD2

We provide a rabbit vaccination clinic
Initial vaccinations must be 3 weeks prior to staying with us.
Booster vaccinations can be done during a stay with us or at a booked appointment (depending when they are due)
