About our Small Pet Boarding

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa, Wheeks & Wiggles is my own small ‘all things guinea pig and Rabbit’ business offering grooming, boarding and advice. I am insured, DBS checked and have qualifications in Guinea pig Care, Rabbit Care and small animal sitting.

Firstly, I am not just a crazy guinea pig and Rabbit mad lady, I am an animal lover, passionate about animal welfare and enthusiastic karaoke singer.

I have a wealth of experience with guinea pigs and rabbits, having kept them since a young age. Without giving away how old I am (a women never tells her age!), you can be safe in the knowledge I have over 28 years’ experience with guinea pigs, rabbits and small furies.

I set up Wheeks and Wiggles because guinea pigs and rabbits are one of the best pets anyone, any age can own. They bring so much joy to many and are great healers when it comes to wellbeing (aka therapy animals). Wheeks & Wiggles is a safe place for all Piggy and Bun parents to feel their beloved pets are in good hands. Whether they come to see us for a groom, a health check, piggycation or Hoptel stay, your pet is part of our family.

Wheeks & Wiggles is run from our home in the village of Sutton, Norfolk. My Husband assists me with the business and as you get to know me and use Wheeks & Wiggles Services, you will see how committed we both are to animal welfare and care.

Accommodation:

Wheeks & Wiggles has a piggy palace for all Guinea pig guests which boasts 4 spacious boarding hutches. This is air conditioned in the summer and heated in winter. The piggy palace is also home to our very own guinea pig herd so your guinea pig will makes friends whilst staying with us. Each hutch meets RSPCA hutch size guidance. We may be able to board larger herds with enough advance notice in our summer house.

For Rabbits we have the Luxury 'Georges Warren' a purpose built bunny shed and connecting predator proof run (24hr access). This is air conditioned in the summer and heated in winter. The run gives your bunny a large space to binky, play and flop to their hearts content. We also have the indoor Wheeks and Wiggles Den, an xpen in our summer house boasting indoor home from home comfort. This is cooled in the summer and heated in winter.

We have a variety of bedding choices to ensure your pet is comfortable and has what they are used to. You can also bring along some of their things to make it extra homely.

Exercise:

Georges Warren has a connected run to the shed (6.5ft x 4 ft) that rabbits can access 24/7.

The Wheeks and Wiggles Den has supervised free roam access of the summer house.

In the warmer months your Guinea pig(s) will receive regular outdoor exercise and we have a variety of runs for them to try out. In colder months we will give them exercise on the floor of the piggy palace shed.

We are a guinea pig and bunny only household, meaning your pets will not mix with any other species of animals. Our house bunnies, Darcy and Teddy are both fully vaccinated. The Ledgerwood Herd is housed in the same chalet, so your guineas will always have friendly neighbours around them.

Health & Hygiene:

The health and hygiene of your pet is paramount during their stay with us. All boarding areas are thoroughly disinfected before, during their stay and deep cleaned between boarding guests. Bowls, water bottles and hides are also cleaned fully between boarders.
When booking to board with us, we will ask about the health of your pet and ensure they are fit and well. We request all bunnies are fully vaccinated and ask you to provide their valid annual booster documentation.
Should your pet become unwell during their stay, as per our T&Cs we will seek local veterinary care for them (please refer to T&Cs for full conditions). For Existing medication needs, we are more than happy to administer these during their stay (small fee may apply).
During their stay, each pet will receive a complementary health check. A discount of 10% is offered for all boarding guests if they require a full groom during their stay.

We will provide all food (Nuggets & veggies), daily fresh hay and grooming if requested (with 10% off discount). Special dietary needs or preferred brands to be provided by owner.

A £10 non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure a boarding booking. This will be deducted from the overall boarding charge.

Please note for Boarding:
All UK Bank Holidays and Festive period (24th Dec – 1st Jan) are charged at twice the daily charge per pet
Your pet’s stay is charged per day regardless of arrival and pick up times.
Should your pet arrive in a condition that may pose risk to other boarders / is unclean, we will take the necessary action and charge for services rendered.

Small, caged animals are also welcomed to stay at Wheeks and Wiggles. Owner to provide housing, bedding, and food. Prices start from £2 per day

Duty of care
During a grooming appointment or whilst boarding with Wheeks & Wiggles, Lisa will always give your pet a general health check. If anything is identified during this check, seeking veterinary attention will be advised.

If Lisa is concerned regarding the welfare of your pet, questions will be asked to establish any advice that may be needed to enhance the care they receive.

This will not be meant to offend any owner, at Wheeks and Wiggles, animal welfare is our priority.

‘Bath, Blow Dry & Floof ‘
£13 Short Hair / £15 Long Hair – Calling all Guinea Pigs, big, small, long hair, short hair, curly hair, and all in between! This groom is a SPA trip for your piggy, giving them a spruced-up trim and leaving them smelling divine

‘The full Toodles’ £18 – This one is especially for the long, crazy haired piggies that need a good wash, full short cut, and spruce #summerready #messypiggy

‘Boar Special’ £15 – Boys can be smelly, let Lisa take care of the ‘Crown Jewels’ to keep your boar clean and fresh as a daisy down there (private parts, testicles, and perineal sack check & clean) #forboarsonly

All grooming sessions above include nail cutting, health check, ear clean and bath. Appointments are 1 hour per guinea pig

Bath Guidance: Guinea pigs only need a bath every 3-6 months or when required for medical reasons. Lisa can advise further on this and will keep records of bath times so your piggy stays healthy, fresh, and clean.
