About our Small Pet Boarding

Lenny – The Head of the Herd. Experienced animal mentor having been around animals all her life, in the early days assisting with animal rescues from birds to foxes, rabbits to dogs. She now has her own herd that are all fit and healthy and looked after immaculately (included dogs, cats, skinny pigs, rabbits, hamster, ducks, chickens and shrimps). Caring for and hatching the ducks and chickens from eggs, demonstrates the intense dedication Lenny has for her (and your) animals. Currently studying for qualifications in animal care to compliment the huge amount of practical experience gained from nursing animals back to health and generally providing a loving, caring experience for all her animals.
Katie – Animal Care Assistant. Been around animals helping to look after the herd all her life and recently qualified in Animal Care at West Midlands Safari Park with Kidderminster College. Part time while finishing college she will bring her educational qualification into use building up her practical experiences caring for the boarders. Owner of her two green tree frogs, Alan and Mavis Blackburn!!
Coley – Animal Care Assistant. Loved animals all her life and now owns Sonny the sausage dog and Steve the guinea pig. Worked at Pets at home on the shop floor looking after the small and fluffies and now managing the Groom Room there. Experience across the range of pets and holding numerous qualifications in care and animal first aid.

Accommodation:

We have indoor and outdoor facilities, all animals will be kept inside overnight.
• We have 1 outside cottage with run attached (animals are brought inside at night),
• We have 2 outside hutches with runs attached (animals are brought inside at night),
• We have large 5 ft hutches (indoors),
• We have 4 ft hutches (indoors),
• We have cages for rats and the smaller furries (indoors), and
• We have shaded runs (outdoors, so indoor animals get outside exercise during the day).

Exercise:

All animals have nice spacious hutches and will be outside during the day into runs (animals will be brought in at night for their safety).

Health & Hygiene:

We take infection control very seriously and all living areas (hutches and runs) will be thoroughly cleaned before another animal will use it. We use veterinary standard disinfectant when cleaning the hutches out. Fresh bedding and toilets will be provided for each new animal and daily check for cleanliness will be carried out and cleaned as required.
All animals boarded with us should be in good health at time of arrival, and any pre-existing conditions discussed with us, (if your pet shows any signs of illness we reserve the right not to board your pet).

If your pet does become ill during their stay, we will make all effort to contact you, and your pet will receive immediate medical attention from our local vet.

Any vets’ fees incurred whilst your animal is boarding with us will be the owners responsibility and should be paid at the time of collection.

Whilst under our care, your pet will be looked after as if they are one of own, but unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any injury, illness, loss or death to any animal whilst on our premises. All pets are left entirely at owner’s risk.

Rabbits must be vaccinated against RVHD, Myxomatosis and RVHD2, and certification confirming this must be sent through by photo or bought with you on arrival to confirm. First time vaccinations must be done 21 days before pet’s arrival date otherwise not valid.

Unfortunately, they will be refused without the vaccinations as we have to think of the welfare of the other guests.

We have camera overwatch of the indoors living area to keep an eye on your fluffies. The living area will be locked and secured at night. Temperature control will be provided, heater in the cold and a fan in the summer.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Price
Rabbits £10 per day.
Hamsters, gerbils and mice £5 per day.
All other animals (e.g. rats, chinchillas, ferrets, hedgehogs, degu, reptiles, tortoises etc) £7 per day.

Each extra bonded animal £2 per animal per day (e.g. one rabbit for 5 days is £50, 2 rabbits is £60, 3 rabbits £70, in the same hutch).

Deposit – 20% of total or £10 minimum, non-refundable deposit unless cancelled with more than 14 days to go until your stay. This will be payable to confirm the booking.

Balance of payments for boarding will be required ON or BEFORE drop off and can be paid by cash or bank transfer.
