About our Small Pet Boarding

At Gillipigs we understand the importance of knowing that your pets are happy, well cared for and safe when you are away, and we pride ourselves in being able to provide home from home boarding in our country home and garden.
We are huge animal lovers ourselves, with forty years experience in caring for all types of animals, large and small. We are fully insured, DBS checked, and certified in small animal care and first aid.
Accommodation:
We offer a variety of types of accommodation, both indoors and outside. All housing and pens are light, spacious, clean and warm. Secure outdoor runs on lawn grass are available, and much enjoyed on fine days! If preferred, we are happy for owners to ‘bring your own home’. so that the pet is familiar with its surroundings.
Boarding arrangements are altered seasonally, with thermal mats, waterproof coverings to outdoor accommodation, and thick comfy bedding for colder months and as required.
We take animal nutrition very seriously, and feed only on top quality foods, supplemented with additional fruit, veg and herbs from our own garden . We listen carefully to the preferences of each owner, and for this reason we ask that you fill in our Individual Pet Information form, and give as much information as possible about your pet’s diet and care at home.
If your pet has specific nutritional needs or allergies, we would ask that you provide a supply of their preferred food for their stay.
Exercise:
We recognize that all animals, even the smallest, need space and a variety of toys and activities to keep them happy and stimulated. At Gillipigs they will receive daily play sessions, cuddles and much love!
Health & Hygiene:
We are happy to administer any medications or treatments as directed, but would ask that an adequate supply is provided at the beginning of the stay. We also ask for details of worm and flea treatments, and whether your pet has any significant medical history.
Please inform us if you have any health concerns about your animal before the start of their stay. In particular we would need to know about loose stools, runny nose, or itchy skin.
All accommodation is thoroughly cleaned with appropriate disinfectant, and aired between each animal stay, as are all feeding and play equipment.
Small Pet Boarding Prices
Please see a list of our prices . We are happy to accept cash, BACCs transfer, or debit card payments.
We ask for a 25% non refundable deposit when the booking is made, and payment of the balance at the start of the stay.

Other Services
At Gillipigs, we prize our relationship and communication with our customers and our ‘guests’! For this reason we ask that all owners carefully read our Terms and Condition, and also our Disclaimer Agreement. If happy we these we ask that you sign and return these to us before the start of your pet’s stay. This is not only essential for our insurance, but helps us to provide the optimum care for your pet and our client.
We aim to keep you in touch with your pet by sending frequent messages/photo’s and videos (if that is what you would like).
Transport - Collection and Return Service
We understand that sometimes having to drop off your pet at boarding can be upsetting or stressful, (or sometimes it can be another thing you have to do as part of your busy preparations for your holiday.)!
For this reason we offer a collection and return service for an extra charge, average about £5 per journey but dependent on where you live. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please give us as much notice as possible and we will do our best to oblige. All pets are transported in clean, safe and secure carriers.

My two rex rabbits stayed with Gillipigs for 5 nights in October. Gill offers an exceptional boarding experience, both for the animals and their owners. She is genuinely passionate about the animals and provides outstanding care for them. She sent us regular updates and photos whilst we were aware, so we could be sure that our rabbits were happy, well looked after and content. I would highly recommend Gill to anyone looking for temporary boarding for their animals.

We were so lucky to find Gill, our usual tortoise sitter couldn't have our old boy (108) last minute and I searched for hours to find someone. I came across Gills website and luckily enough she had room to take him. He was so well cared for, I was quite anxious but Gill sent pictures of him eating and showed he settled straight away. You can tell right away Gill has a natural affinity with animals and I had absolutely no worries about booking him with her for next year. What a lucky find!😊

Gill looked after our two tortoise and two guinea pigs. They all had a lovely stay , I got regular updates , and pictures which was very reassuring. The accommodation that they were in was excellent, very stimulating for both sets of animals , I loved the fact Gill was happy to accommodate them indoors and when the weather was good take the time to let them venture outside for a change of scene. Fresh home grown food was given to both sets of animals daily. They came home very happy , and I felt happy and confident to have them stay with Gill again . I would highly recommend Gill its a lovely setting and the animals and very well looked after. A definite five star experience

Gill looked after our rabbit Rex for 2.5 weeks. We were a bit nervous leaving him as we've never left him for so long. However, the nerves soon disappeared when we met Gill and her husband, and saw how much they clearly care about the animals they care for. The set up for the animals is lovely. We were able to tell Gill the things we usually do daily for Rex and this was all taken on board. Communication was great and we received regular picture updates which was lovely. We could see Gill and her husband really got to know Rex and he looked happy in all the pictures! We will 100% look to board Rex here again when we go away in future, and would highly recommend to others. Thank you!

Our two guinea pigs have just had a wonderful holiday with Gill. They were well looked after and fed. Gill sent us pictures whilst we were away and provided great communication throughout the process. Overall we just got a huge sense of love and affection and competance for all the animals being looked after. Would 100% send the piggies back.

Gill is absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and she is so caring and kind. We are so grateful to have found Gillipigs. This was the first time we have left our little hamster and we were so reassured by Gill. Our little hamster had a lovely time away and was treated with home grown tomatoes and wholemeal bread! Gill looked after our 3 guinea pigs for a week whilst we were on holiday. Booking was really straightforward: Gill replied to messages quickly and gave lots of useful information. Our piggies had a lovely time, with plenty of space indoors and out. Gill gave them (and us) a warm reception and kept us up to date with photos and messages so we knew they were okay. It was nice to know they were in a home, rather than a kennel-like facility. Highly recommend Gill for stress-free pet boarding in lovely surroundings. Many thanks, Gill!

Gill is the most wonderful, kind person. It's not easy leaving your pets with someone for the first time but when I first met Gill I instantly knew my two house bunnies were in safe and loving hands. They have a lovely big set up in the conservatory and I receive frequent updates and pictures. I've now lost count of how many bookings I've made but I won't go anywhere else! My babies always come back happy and healthy ðŸ°ðŸ°

After searching the local area we spoke to Gill at Gillipigs who made us feel confident she would look after our Monty (1 yr old budgie). Gill has a wonderful home to board small animals in and obviously is an animal lover. Gill sent us daily updates and also let Monty out to fly around like he does at home. Gill made a new friend and Monty definitely did. We will definitely be sending Monty to Gillipigs again.
