About our Small Pet Boarding

I have kept rabbits for more than 40 years but often found it difficult to get boarding for certain groups, especially house rabbits, disabled rabbits and groups of 4 or more.

I now have more time at home so run a very small boarding business specialising in the groups above. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be happy to take your single rabbit, pair or trio too.

I am a member of the Rabbit Welfare Association and the Facebook Kent Hopper Group and fully insured with a DBS. I have lots of experience of rabbits with E Cuniculi, having had rabbits with head tilt, back leg paralysis and seizures and providing the intensive care that these rabbits need. I would be happy to medicate your rabbits if required following your vet’s instructions.

I aim to look after your rabbits with as much care as you provide them and this means personalising their care. Do they sit on the couch watching tv with you? Do they have a special rug or bed? Do they like a treat at bedtime? I will try to follow your instructions as closely as possible.

Accommodation:

I provide inside and outside boarding, both of which are larger than RWAF guidelines. My inside boarding consists of one room measuring 3.2 x 2.6 m (10.5 x 8.5 feet). Where possible, I provide the same flooring as your rabbits already use, lino, rug, newspaper, etc. Your rabbits can have free roam or be penned, whichever is preferred by you and them.

My outside accommodation is a shed (6x4) with attached run (6x6). Flooring is lino in the shed and slabs in the run. Rugs/newspaper can be added if required in addition to bedding hay. Background heating can be supplied for elderly and disabled rabbits at extra cost.

I am happy to contact you with updates and photos by email if requested and will post photos on social media with your consent.

As we all know, rabbits are very prone to stasis when faced with change and hence I request enough dry food and eating hay for the duration of their stay. Veggies should be provided for 7 days and I will then provide the same food for the rest of their stay.

Health & Hygiene:

The accommodation is cleaned between boarders with pet safe disinfectant and the floors are steam cleaned. Vinegar spray is used for cleaning while your rabbits are having their holiday here.
All rabbits MUST be vaccinated.
