About our Small Pet Boarding

Hi there! I'm Kim Ellam, the proud owner of Kim's Purfect Pets & Small Reptile Boarding. As a devoted wife and mother of two wonderful adult children, 4 dogs, 2 reptiles and a rescued starling, my passion for animals has been an integral part of our family life for as long as I can remember.

Our Furry Family
At home, we're a bustling household filled with love, laughter, and of course, our cherished animal companions. Our four playful dogs: Orla, Cody, Elmo, and Brodie . They're not just pets; they're beloved members of our family, each with their own unique personalities and quirks.
In addition to our canine companions, we also share our home with two fascinating reptiles: Nova, our crested gecko,George, our false chameleon, and Whispy our wonderful and cheeky rescued starling.

A Lifetime of Pet Love
My journey with animals began in childhood, where I was fortunate enough to experience the joy of caring for a wide range of creatures, from birds and reptiles to rabbits, hamsters, dogs, cats, and more. Over the years, this passion has only grown stronger, shaping my understanding of the unique needs and bond shared between humans and animals.

We have shared our lives as a family with reptiles for about 10 years, so have experience in their care. Reptile care is one of my passions which I take very seriously. They are amazing creatures and have specific care requirements. Also, many wild animals have come into our care, like hedgehogs, birds, bees etc so have experience in this also. I am animal first aid trained & certified, and very passionate about researching and learning more about our fascinating array of pets and wildlife. I am DBS checked, have the appropriate pet insurance for my pet sitting (drop in visits) and boarding.

Your pets wellbeing is our main priority and we go above and beyond for all pets in our care. If your best friend needs the vets, this will be sorted immediately, if they need extra companionship this is given with our pleasure and delight. If they have any health problems in our care for any reason, we do our best to help them and make them more comfortable. So what ever we need to do for your pet we’ve got their backs!

Accommodation:

We have recently set up this unique and valuable service, for reptiles, after discovered there is a lack of boarding care for these unique and captivating creatures around this area. We are able to offer indoor boarding for your small reptile family members, into our family home. In a freshly decorated spare room which is dedicated to our guests. With a couple of brand new bearded dragon vivarium set-ups, complete with thermostats, basking areas, a hammock to snooze on, apparatus for your beloved friend to rest and survey its surroundings on, in a quiet area of our home. Our reptile room is away from the hustle and bustle of family life and our own pets.
We have a chameleon set-up as well with all the equipment needed to keep these wonderful creatures happy. We board other small reptiles, such as crested geckos, anoles and more.Please get in touch for details on this.

We have dogs that are kept away from all our boarding guests, making absolutely sure your pets safety, happiness, and wellbeing are our most important priority. We know that a lot of pets prefer a quiet space, with no loud or startling sounds causing stress in our pets. We also do not board lots of pets together in close proximity, we are a small business. We have a limited space for our indoor boarders, which we believe is a safe way to be. We are extremely conscious of your beloved pets happiness, health and wellbeing, protecting them from any stress and viruses or germs, bacteria from other boarders.

In the near future we are going to be building a bespoke outdoor facility in our back garden. This will be completely weather proof from the outside elements , and have lighting and electricity for heaters, fans etc.
it will be fenced off and a secure and safe area, away from our pets and any wildlife. We are so excited for this other new venture, we can’t wait to share it all with your wonderful VIP’s.

Exercise:

We guide our exercise structure by the clients wishes and pets abilities, health and breed. So if your bearded dragon loves a snuggle, or to stretch its legs outside on warm sunny days we will do this with pleasure. Not all reptiles like to be handled, if your bestie doesn't we will respect its preferences!

Health & Hygiene:

Any health problems must be reported to us before your pets care starts. This can affect the decision of your pet coming to us, due to the safety and welfare of our other guest! All our equipment, housing, utensils, bowls, and areas are completely cleaned and sanitised after each boarder, making it as safe for your pet as possible!

Small Pet Boarding Prices

There is no size fits all with prices for boarding your pet(s) Please contact us for prices, which vary due to the pet or pet(s) their requirements and length of stay with us. We may not be the cheapest boarding facility but that’s because we feel we offer so much with the care and the accommodation we provide, now and in the future.

Other Services

We also offer a pick up & drop off service for our clients boarding their pet with us. This is if you live within a 3 mile radius to our boarding facility. For clients that may have difficulty getting their pet to us and back again after their pets stay. We charge £0.45p per mile and a small fee for our time.
