About our Small Pet Boarding

COVID -19 UPDATE

Abbey Pet Care is open for business with the following rules in place for your safety and mine.

Drop offs will take place at the door. Please ring the side door bell, leave your pet carrier at the door and take a step back. I will then sanitise my hands prior to collecting your pet and bringing them in to settle them in their hutch. When collecting your pet, please text to say that you are outside and I will bring your pet in their carrier to the door.

Payment should be made via bank transfer or cash/cheque in an envelope left on top of your pet's carry box on the day of drop off.

Abbey Pet Care offers quality boarding for all small animals. We pride ourselves on being a small business, therefore, we are able to offer plenty of individual attention for your pet during their stay.

We are experienced in looking after rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, degus, chinchillas, budgies, tortoises and chickens.

Dog walking and Pet Visiting are also available, if you should prefer to leave your pet in his/her own surroundings.

Accommodation:

Our six indoor hutches can be opened up to provide up to 7ft of living space suitable for larger breeds of rabbit or perhaps if a pair of animals require housing together.

Exercise:

All rabbits and guinea pigs will have daily access to our outdoor runs which are sited on our grassy lawn, weather permitting.

Runs have sun shades to help keep your pet cool during hot weather. Hide boxes are also provided for your pet to enjoy!

Health & Hygiene:

Bedding, basic dried food and fresh vegetables are including in our daily rates which start from as little as £5.00 per day.

Any special dietary needs can be catered for, but this special food should be provided by the owner.

All hutches are cleaned daily and disinfected weekly.

Your vet will be contacted should your animal become unwell during its stay with us.

To enable us to board your rabbit, he/she will need to have up to date vaccinations for myxomatosis and VHD.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Small caged animals / budgies - £5 per day per cage.
Rabbits / Guinea Pigs - £6.00 per day per hutch. Tortoises £5.00 per day.
Payment should be made by either bank transfer, cash or cheque made payable to Abbey Pet Care on first day of boarding. A 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking and your balance is due on the day of drop off.

Our Facebook page allows us to keep you up to date regarding your pets stay with us via messages and photos.

Home Visits and Dog Walking are also services that Abbey Pet Care offers, all from very competitive prices.

*Please note that grooming and claw clipping only applies to rabbits and guinea pigs and is charged at £5 per guinea pig/rabbit. Discounts are available for multiple pets.

** As of January 2021, a new service will be available. Guinea Pig Spa Days!! Included will be a gentle, warm bath, a brush, nail clipping, possible hair trim, followed by a lovely afternoon tea of various vegetables.
