About our Small Pet Boarding

We are Jo, John and George and we run The Bunnery from our family home called Fir Tree Cottage. We have many years experience living with bunnies and other small furries. We absolutely love animals and have collected quite a few since moving to the countryside. They are our family and we invite your small pets to join us as part of our family for the duration of their stay with us.

Accommodation:

The main Bunnery hotel is in one of our outbuildings in our garden. We have twelve 6ft hutches and two 5ft hutches. Offering a clean and spacious stay for your small pet. Any smaller pets such as hamsters/gerbils/mice/rats will be in the main Bunnery in their own enclosures brought from home. In our secondary Bunnery area next door to the main Bunnery we have an 8ft by 4ft house with run for any larger buns or larger herds of Guinea pigs, or if you just wanted your pet to have abit more space.

Exercise:

All guests will have access to our 6ft runs in our large country garden for grass grazing and some fresh country air. The aim is to get your pets outside as much as possible. There is always lots going on as we have goats, chickens and ducks wandering around the place which can be very entertaining for your pet. Our own bunnies will definitely come and say hello and have a sniff. If the weather is rotten and we dont feel it would be wise to have our guests outside we will make arrangements for them all to have a hop/run around the main Bunnery with some toys and snacks. Any of our really small guests such as hamsters/gerbils and other rodents will be handled and played with by us if appropriate so they can have a break from their enclosures.

Health & Hygiene:

All our guests are kept separate but will be able to see and hear each other. All visiting rabbits must be vaccinated to the current requirements (Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 1 & 2) Your pet will be checked daily for any signs of illness. We have a lovely vet centre local to us and wont hesitate to use them if we see your pet is unwell. We are happy to administer medication to your pet if needed. We require your small pet to have his/her own food brought from home so their diets stay the same and keep their tummies healthy. We will supply fresh hay, veggies and some tasty treats.

Small Pet Boarding Prices

Our prices range from:
£9-£15 for rabbits depending on how many sharing
£8-£13 for guinea pigs depending on how many sharing
£5.50 for hamsters
£5.50 - £9 for gerbils/mice depending on how many sharing
£8-£14 for rats depending on how many sharing
We ask for a £20 deposit to secure your booking.
We accept bank transfer, cash and cards for payment.

Jo was amazing looking after our rabbit Oreo . He was well looked after and we even were sent updates on how he was whilst we were away, including photos. Jo treated him like any of her own pets and spent time with him so he wasn't lonely. He was given his normal treats during the day and he was absolutely fine when we returned.
